at the san mateo bridge we have a high wind advisory and expect to see some delays starting tomorrow for the next two weeks with automatic toll plazas installed. >> new this morning, san francisco police chief is dropping a controversial plan to arm some officers with tasers. he made the announcement at the police commission meeting. katie marzullo has the latest from the newsroom. >> this is surprising. the chief had been pushing for the tasers not for the entire force but for about 70 officers specially trained in crisis intervention. this morning, the "san francisco chronicle" is reporting the chief is taking his proposal off the table. he says after taking public suggestions under advisement and changing the policy for how the tasers could be used, usage was so restrictive the less lethal weapons were no longer viable and tells the chronicle that officer would give so much pause to "if" they should use the taser it would put them and the public at more risk. at a hearing in august an expert on taser induced heart failure outlined why there should be restrictions based on weight a

to the san mateo bridge highway 92. we are not tracking any hot spots. quick commute check shows that only slowing to be found in the east bay is on interstate 580 and highway 4. even those two freeways are lighter than usual. we're still seeing light ride for the peninsula. >> the time is 6:01 a.m.. >> we are following a developing story out of san francisco where police are searching for a suspect who let the money chase before ditching the car. kron4 jackie sissel is live from the scene near san francisco state with more. >> actually, the car ended up slamming into the barricades here. this whole thing started and it was a wild chase. it started about 3:00 a.m. this morning we do have video of the. apparently, a cab was reported stolen and the san francisco police department's spotted the stolen cab and were able to track it down be a satellite. the chase pursuit on 19th avenue and went down to 80 near at&t park. it made a u-turn and came back onto 80 and went down some surface streets. it made a another u-turn and headed back down to 80 northbound toward san francisco state university.

, san mateo also received a wif grant. it allows us to look at the industry from a regional perspective. we do have some of our students employed regionally, not just here in san francisco. we have partnered with them to share data. this is a rarity that you are able to do that around this industry to try to ensure that we understand what's happening in our neighboring counties and they know what's going on in san francisco. we did a labor comprehensive research which partnered with impact, we partnered with the community college system to really look at our industry. we've done a number of what we call round table convening. the most recent was january 15th whenever we invited a number of employers to understand about their current openings and what they can see in the future. coming up may 2nd, we'll do an extensive look at our curriculum with employers to make sure we are on the right track. so a large part of what we are trying to do is make sure that what we are providing is relevant. i know that was one of the questions asked of us. to that point, to all of the work that we have

on san mateo. >> this overturned truck, dave, southbound 101, still blocking the two right lanes. this happened on the ramp from westbound -- i'm sorry. eastbound 92 to southbound 101. that ramp is going to remain closed. southbound 101, the two right lanes are shut down and traffic on the bayshore freeway coming out of burlingame and millbrae is a mess. we do not recommend using 101. use interstate 280 southbound as an alternate route. if you can get on 101 after 92 you will be okay. obviously as you look at these live pictures. this is not a good road for you to be on right now. southbound 101 is very slow from miles and miles approaching this backup. it's a bottleneck. southbound 101 at 92. chp has told us they are not gonna clean this up until at least 10:00 this morning. the northbound direction is not affected but southbound is a big mess. >>> let's take a look at the bay bridge toll plaza. 25-minute delay here before you get onto the bridge. on the nimitz freeway, southbound traffic we had earlier problems. they've been cleared up but it's slow from 880 to 238 as you head
